Friends, Colleagues and Clients,
I hope you are all staying safe and well during these unprecedented times.
I want you to know Derecktor Shipyards continues doing everything we can to keep our employees, clients and communities safe during the COVID-19 crisis. We are strictly observing social distancing, sanitizing and other guidelines as defined by the Centers for Disease Control, as well as our local and state governments.
Innovation has always been a key component of Derecktor’s success and by adapting to meet client needs, each of our shipyards has remained operational.
New York is busy servicing our commercial clients and we stand ready to assist them further as businesses begin to reopen. We have continued to provide dockage and service in Dania Beach and Fort Pierce. Refit projects in Florida are on-going in compliance with official directives. Service and summer launching have been ongoing at Derecktor Robinhood in Maine and many facility upgrades await our customers now the marina is open for summer.
Lastly, we are moving forward with our plans in Fort Pierce to install a 1,500-ton mobile boat hoist, which is scheduled for delivery by the end of the year. Yard Manager Robert Mac Keen and his team have continued to prepare the property for the lift’s arrival.
I know the COVID-19 outbreak and subsequent changes to our daily life have had a tremendous impact on each and every one of us. Navigating this rough water is not easy, but as with every storm, it will pass. My commitment is to maintain the course we have steered for more than 70 years.
Together we will get through this. I want to thank each and every one of you for being part of Derecktor.
Be well,
