Derecktor Dania - Florida's Most Complete Megayacht Yard
Over the last half-century, Fort Lauderdale has become the undisputed capital of megayacht service, repair and refit. There is no doubt Derecktor has been one of the driving forces behind this phenomenon.
Today, we are widely recognized as the most complete large yacht facility on the East Coast of the U.S., regularly handling multiple vessels of up to 200 ft. We have continually upgraded and improved our shipyard to lead the market.
While the boats and equipment have changed over time, our near-legendary commitment to craft, customers and detail has not.
Derecktor Dania Increases Lifting Capacity to 220 LOA
Derecktor Dania contracted with Shoreline Foundation Inc. to lengthen the piers utilized by the shipyard’s 900-ton Cimolai mobile boat hoist by 15 feet. The project, engineered by Cummins Cederberg in Miami, now allows Derecktor to fully utilize the lifting capacity of the existing hoist and permit vessels up to 220 feet length overall (LOA) to be routinely hauled ashore.
The pile-driving crane equipment for the project is provided by Beyel Brothers of Fort Pierce, neighbors to the new Derecktor Fort Pierce shipyard located in St. Lucie County, Florida. “The expansion allows for a greater number of the large yachts frequenting Port Everglades to use the shipyard and provides another hauling option for the South Florida market,” James Brewer, Director of Business Development said.
