FORT PIERCE, FL – Waves of economic opportunity are on the horizon for businesses looking to support South Florida’s growing yacht industry.
Marine industry-based vendors and subcontractors interested in offering products or services to clients at Derecktor Ft. Pierce are invited to attend an open house March 18 at the new megayacht facility. The event begins at 10 a.m. with a short presentation, followed by a tour of the yard and concludes with a question-and-answer session.
“Our intent is to create a network of approved vendors and subcontractors for our clients to utilize during their next yard period,” Justin Beard, Marketing and Sales Development Manager at Derecktor Shipyards, said. “This event is an opportunity for people to visit the new facility, meet our team and learn how to become an approved vendor or subcontractor ahead of the yard becoming fully operational in May.”
Derecktor anticipates hauling operations to commence in May when the world’s largest mobile boat hoist – a 1,500-ton machine capable of hauling yachts up to 250 feet in length out of the water for refit, maintenance or complete overhaul – is officially commissioned into service.
Marine industry-based vendors and subcontractors interested in learning about qualifications to work at Derecktor Ft. Pierce are welcome to attend, but must RSVP by Monday, March 15. The open house will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 18, with light refreshments provided.
